What Happened at Nashville Fashion Week 2017?

Nashville Fashion Week is a five day long event which is full of excitement, new collections and awareness programs.

Nashville is the next fashion hub in the US with its sprawling fashion culture, boutiques, clothing and jewelry stores. And Nashville Fashion Show is organized to celebrate the fashion spirit of the city. Its objective is to promote creativity, collections and the talents of the local fashion community.

It is a five day long event which is kicked off in April every year. NFW was incorporated in 2010 and the first show was in April 2011.



Margaret Ellis Jewelry Intro to Metalsmithing:


The first day of NFW encouraged the audiences to try hand at jewelry making. They could make their own pearl bangles. It started on April 4 and was held at Margaret Ellis Jewelry.

Nashville Designer Showcase:

Afterwards, Nashville Fashion Week showcased collections by the designers on 4th April at Margaret Ellis Jewelry. The show had the likes of Amanda Valentine, Any Old Iron, Cavanagh Baker, Minxx, Ona Rex and Truly Alvarenga.

Emerging Designer Runway Show:


On the night of April 5th, the fashion show highlighted the collections by emerging designers including Andrew Gallivan, Lily Guilder Design, Madness Is, Nasheli Juliana and Splashed by DKG. Night 2 of the NFW was organized at Union Station Veranda.

Alabama Chanin Intro to Hand Sewing Workshop:


On April 8th, NFW moved ahead with the hand sewing workshop that included a conference and seminars over sewing, reverse appliqué, and an overview of garment construction and other Alabama Chanin techniques. The workshop was aimed to train beginners in sewing. Designer Natalie Chanin hosted several Trunk Shows throughout the week at 1601 B Riverside Drive.

An Evening of Photography and Fashion:


A showcase of visual art added to the excitement of the fashion show. The show featured Adam Schulman at Tinney Contemporary; Elise Wehle and Adam Thomas at Rymer Gallery and Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty at The Frist Center for the Visual Arts. The venue of the art gallery was at Tinney Contemporary Gallery, Rymer Gallery and The Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

Ready to Wear Designer Runway Show:


On April 7th, Nashville Fashion Show was marked with the starting of Ready to wear Designer Runway Show. The event featured collections by Fauxgerty, Lagi Nadeau, Michael Drummond, Patrick Assaraf and Shea Steele in the BMI lobby. Erin McCarly took the show to the next level with his music.

Lagi Nadeau Trunk Show and Appearance:


The weekend marked the return of NFW alum Lagi Nadeau, who showcased here Fall/Winter 2017 collection.

The Fourth Annual Nashville Fashion Forward Gala and Late Party:


Shelly Colvin spiced up the event’s final day with some awesome musical performances at Track One. It was followed by a cocktail and dinner party.

Nashville Fashion Week, 2017 was a whirlwind of a week full of runway shows, workshops and parties. This annual event continues to put Nashville on the map for fashion.
